Where are "vintage" toilets still sold? I don't want (or need) the ultra-low-flush low-flow variety available at Home Depot. (I didn't want double-paned windows, either, but that's what "the standards" have imposed...)

Best guess is: visit the ReStore often, watch Craigslist, cruise garage sales ... and hope for something being discarded from a remodel that I can clean up and replace gaskets etc as needed...?

If they don't meet the codes Home Depot won't sell them.

Depot does sell replacement parts for things which no longer meet code.

Depot also sells things which the general public isn't legally allowed to install.

The "low flow" style, toilet has been in the Codes for so long, the manufacturers no longer make them. Best bet is scout for a "remodel" version.

Mine is the Kohler blue, ( with matching sink and tub ), bought from HPM ( Haoles Pay More ) in the early 80's, and I changed all my remodeling plans just to keep it. Good luck in your hunt.

Why do you want one of the old ones? I don't see any advantage there. Newer ones flush way better and use less water. Unless you're short, the so called handicapped models?-not sure about the proper terminology- now available sit in a higher, more comfortable position.

I don't need to use less water per flush, but I need the flow restrictor even less.
