Assange was arrested, not for reporting news, but from hacking into government and other private systems and stealing information. There is also that issue of sexual assault...

Let’s be sure that we understand that Assange is not charged with breaking a law. Assange is charged with being in a conspiracy with Manning “to commit computer intrusion.” The charge is not that Assange succeeded in hacking a government computer and obtaining classified information. It merely says that Assange discussed the possibility with Manning and had an intention to hack a computer. Most likely, even this non-crime is an invention of prosecutors instructed to indict Assange in the absence of any evidence. It is all that they could come up with.

How about when you and your spouse talk about getting some narcotics and getting high, but instead watch a movie and go to bed. You could be charged with “conspiracy to obtain illegal narcotics.” This is the type of charge for which Assange faces extradition to Washington.

EDIT
---------------
"There were never any rape charges against Assange. What happened is this. Two Swedish women took Assange into their beds in their homes and had consensual sex with him. No condom was used. The women or one of them wanted Assange to take a test so she could be reassured that he had no disease that could be sexually transmitted. Assange foolishly refused. The woman went to the police to see if Assange could be coerced to take the test. Out of this came the investigation that was closed without charges. Assange was free to leave Sweden."

Tulsi nailed this one. The press should be on the warpath against this mockery instead of attacking Tulsi for speaking the truth.

I don't see Assange as having anything to do with Hawaii. So let's end it.

Assume the best and ask questions.

Tulsi for President! Tulsi's individualism and loyalty to the American people and our Country will be revealed in the debates...it's gonna be interesting.

Washington (CNN)A Democratic congresswoman who is running for president criticized on Thursday the Justice Department's indictment of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, saying it puts the US government on a "dangerous and slippery slope" in its treatment of journalists and all Americans.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, who also serves in the National Guard, told CNN's Jake Tapper

lets try again...

“I might get in trouble for saying this, but what does it matter if we beat Donald Trump if we end up with someone who will perpetuate the very same crony capitalist policies, corporate policies, and waging more of these costly wars?” Gabbard asks a room full of supporters in the clip, to thunderous applause.

riversnout - any chance you could point out the highlights? I suspect many people, like myself, don't have the time to watch the whole two and a half hours.

Riversnout, if you right click on the video in YouTube, there is a choice for "copy video URL at current time". Helpful for getting right to the point(s) you want to highlight.

It's not so much looking for soundbites, it's the general tone and honesty. Sure, fast forward to any random point and listen for 5 minutes if that's all the attention span you have.

EDIT
---------------------
or if you prefer, just wait for the Democratic "debate"

Question: "Do you support green energy?"

Montana Gov. Steve Bullock: "yes"
Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet: "yes"
Former Vice President Joe Biden: "yes"
South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg: "yes"
Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton: "yes"
California Rep. Eric Swalwell: "yes"
Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan: "yes"
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand: "yes"

etc., etc. etc.
