Such a beautiful day in Puna - Punatang - 01-20-2025

Every day in Puna is a gift but this one seems particularly wonderful. Hope you are all enjoying it as much as Lady Tang and I.

Blue skies, blue Pacific.  Warm winds.  Soak it in.
(Check the whether on the mainland if you’re not convinced of your good fortune to wear shorts and a t shirt today)

Oh yes, what a gorgeous, beautiful day here in Puna!

The closest "big city" to my born and raised hometown - Green Bay, Wisconsin, low this morning was 10 below with a balmy wind chill of 28 below and going for a low tonight of 15 below!

Reminds me of the test question our then math and science teacher back in 6th or 7th grade poised to us:

If it is ZERO degrees outside today, and the weather person says it will be twice as cold tomorrow, how cold will it be?

I flew to Pittsburgh for work Saturday evening. It was 6° today and will be even colder tomorrow.
Enjoy the sun and blue skies.

I’m not gonna guess you’re from Oconto Falls, but if you are I’d bet $5 that back in high school you and your friends drove down the highway to Oconto with a gallon of black paint pilfered from your dad’s basement, climbed the ladder up to the top of their water tower, and added “Falls” to the tower’s already painted “Oconto”.

(Puna is much much nicer than NE Wis this time of year. )

"...gallon of black paint pilfered from your dad’s basement..."

I cannot confirm nor deny any passive or active participation of myself or any of my friends on driving from Oconto Falls, WI to Oconto, WI, with a pilfered gallon of dad's black paint while in a dark blue with wood grain paneling on the sides 1973 Ford Country Squire station wagon bearing white with red numbers/letters license plate of D 8614 and climbing the Oconto water tower ladder and adding the words "FALLS" underneath "OCONTO."

I do feel a built guilty however that my older brother, while away at college, got blamed by my dad for a missing gallon of black paint. I am also pretty sure it was lead based.
