Corpse Flowers Have Bloomed in the Panaewa Forest - Patricia - 01-25-2025

So, really? I put up a thread about a Corpse Flower that is blooming in Australia (and basically poke fun at myself while doing it) and it is removed?

There are Corpse Flowers in Hawaii. At the Foster Botanical Gardens on Oahu. At the Panaewa Rain Forest (that one bloomed about 12 years ago and was mentioned on THIS forum). They are rare and being able to see and SMELL one is rare too.

I didn't name the flower in Australia. But the article IS interesting and how many (not you regulars) even know we have those flowers here?

What gives? In what way did the removed post "offend?" Or is not "relevant?"

Or is not "relevant?"

The article you posted has no mention of Hawaii.
We have snow in Hawaii occasionally, that doesn’t mean a story about snow in North Dakota is appropriate for Punaweb.

"The article you posted has no mention of Hawaii."

True enough, M2. But there are a lot of issues/articles that do not directly reference Hawaii, but may be of interest. No?

I am sure all the "regulars" will jump up and down, say they know about the Corpse Flowers in Hawaii. But some of us may not. And apparently, Corpse Flowers are a big deal (rare usually is).

It has nothing to do with me that they named the one in Australia Putricia (Putrid + Patricia).  I just thought it was funny. And finding we had Corpse Flowers here, in Hawaii, was interesting.

may be of interest. No?

It’s not whether the subject is interesting.
It’s that it’s directly Puna-Hawaii related.

It’s that it’s directly Puna-Hawaii related.

Respectfully, M2, if you go back, through the threads, you will find topics that are not directly Puna-Hawaii related.

Still, the fact that there have been Corpse Flower blooms on Hawaii island- well, that seems interesting and something that others might find interesting as well.

How cool is it, that something so rare is HERE?

This one is not Hawaii related.
Any more posts and I will delete.  Lock it up

Any more posts and I will delete.

Respectfully, M2, please clarify for me. Are you saying if I, anyone, responds to this thread you will delete? Or are you saying if I post anything that is not Hawaii, Puna (as you see it) you will delete?

As I said, there are Corpse Flowers in Hawaii (even on Hawaii "island"). And given the timing, one should be ready to bloom in the near future.
