Huh? If Chas deletes his or her's original post that started the thread, then yes, it will delete everyone else's posts in the thread. If it's not the original post, then it won't.

You weren't principled enough to do that.  You didn't ask my permission to delete your thread, and now you expect others to ask permission? 

If you want certain guidelines, shouldn't you lead by example?  Still waiting for you to answer my questions that you said you would answer.

Below is an example of how to actually answer a direct question and not skirt around it:

I don't consider it to be a problem.  I'm assuming you consider it a problem since you brought up the wasted time issue in your deleted thread.  I was merely stating a fact.

It's your own reasoning that has put you in this position.

No whining here about deleted posts.  I appreciate you finally admitting some truth here as opposed to your earlier lying in regards to the thread content.  What annoys me more than anything is when people try and distort the truth.

You were whining in your thread about 'elepaio deleting a thread and wasting people's time who had posted in that thread, and that you wanted to post in that thread about vertical rainbows and now the thread is deleted, and you couldn't post about vertical rainbows now(THAT is a whine.) 

Threads can be deleted, posts can be deleted and/or edited, folks can edit their user title....big whoop.

I'm not super-familiar with this forum software but usually the admin (Rob) can control whether or not a thread originator can close or delete a thread in the settings section of the admin panel.

I'm not a fan of letting a poster delete a thread because it also deletes (censors) all the posts within it they didn't create. It basically gives administrator power to the users.

Allowing a thread originator to close a thread is more standard on these types of forums. If other users disagree with the action they are free to start their own threads and reference back to comments they made in the other... because they weren't deleted (censored).
