Has anyone noticed.. the latest changes @ Kilauea - dakine - 11-09-2013

...and how all the lava being erupted out at Pu`u O`o is once again on the north side of the Rift Zone and flowing to the northeast?

The current flow map is here... http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov/maps/uploads/image-68.jpg

Thank you dakine for the update. Yes I have been watching this for some time now, there is a lava tube now in that east direction feeding that flow. Where will she decide to come down the pali is the question?. I believe the northeast flow has moved about 3 miles so far, but now with the tube feeding the flow she could move farther and faster now. What would be the best way or access to hike out and see personally?. Thanks again.

Actually there isn't a pali to go down on the north side. This was a major topic last time it came this way, it's gotta be somewhere in the archives, yes? Anyways, if it goes as it is now.. for a long time.. it will essentially graze? just miss? something close to Ainaloa before it crosses 130... in what would be an extremely slow advance towards the sea.

I dropped a marker where it showed the flow advancement on Google Earth. This photo shows you a 3D image. Elevation exaggerated 3.0

I wondered why no one had said anything; perhaps the delay in the new roadwork has a connection?
