The "Ick" Factor - Chuysmom - 02-14-2011 Upon entering the new Burger King in Pahoa (yah, so what?) I was surprised that not ONE employee was wearing gloves of any sort at all. All the prep work for the meals is done by employees with their bare hands. Just sayin'.[xx(] Carrie http://www.sapphiresoap.etsy.com "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future..." Galadriel LOTR RE: The "Ick" Factor - 808blogger - 02-14-2011 LOL. i sure hope you never go into L and L RE: The "Ick" Factor - riverwolf - 02-14-2011 No worries... all the chemicals in the food will kill any bacteria/germs you may be worried about. (I don't have to do a smiley face sticker do I ? riverwolf RE: The "Ick" Factor - EightFingers - 02-14-2011 Come to think of it, I don't think they wore gloves at the one we went to in Rome...... RE: The "Ick" Factor - Greg - 02-14-2011 The workers should wear gloves for their own safety; So they don't absorb insecticides, antibiotics and hormones into their bodies. RE: The "Ick" Factor - Alaskana - 02-14-2011 If the prep is done properly, you don't need to wear gloves until the food is cooked and then on. *shrug* it's fried anyhow, so whatever bacteria happen to transmit should be dead anyhow. Upside of being a great cook. I don't bother with fast food unless I have to. RE: The "Ick" Factor - kimo wires - 02-14-2011 Talk about ick factor. I was going to start a seprate post after going to Malama market today but this will do. I was just there. I reached into the bin holding the Ahi sashimi blocks and some juice dripped on my hand. It smelled foul and I noticed that a pack of RAW chicken was leaking on the top shelf , which looked very dirty. It's called cross contamination and can cause food poisioning. Buyer beware. RE: The "Ick" Factor - DTisme - 02-15-2011 Foodland is worse, though, and often smells of bad meat. (and I have to breathe thru my mouth bc I can't stand the smell of poke.) And don't get me going on KTA. Ick is right. RE: The "Ick" Factor - tndhansen - 02-15-2011 quote: ABSOLUTELY agree on the KTA smell. ICKO! T~N~D Hawaiian Acres RE: The "Ick" Factor - DickWilson - 02-15-2011 Chicken is not normally stocked in the fish case. Did you bring this to anyone's attention? Customers do on occasion place items back in what ever case they are in front of. The store tries to catch this when it happens, but that doesn't always happen. When you see something of this nature let the store know so it can be corrected ASAP. dick wilson "Nothing is idiot proof, because idiots are so ingenious!" |
