From the article:

"Hawaii is the only state that specifically forbids drivers from operating a vehicle with a pet on their lap."

Guess that law has never been enforced.

Yet they seem to allow people to ride in the back of pick ups on highways. Can you imagine how far these people would fly in an accident?

Very interesting and it makes one think. Will they make a law against a guy driving with his girlfriends head in his lap. I would love to see how the council would write that bill.

Yeah, along with quite a few others such as those prohibiting black-out tinted windows and enormous tires on pickups.

I don't know about Hawaii but it's usually the height of the bumpers or lights and not the size of the tires that's regulated.

Actually, Oink, I'm pretty sure it's the distance the tires extend outward beyond the fender that matters (or is supposed to matter) in Hawaii.

RE: no more driving dogs? - oink - 01-23-2011

That could be too. I thought it was the height of the monster trucks that was the issue. Yes, there are generally laws that regulate that too. Maybe I'll go look at the statutes again.
