RE: Campaign ethics - Guest - 07-24-2014 Rob Tucker quote "Participation on Punaweb does not require that members use real names. I have no way, if I wanted to, to confirm real names. Those who choose to use their real names, like I do, are welcome to or they can use most any username they want." I know that Rob but it doesn't stop me from thinking that it is chicken sh--! RE: Campaign ethics - csgray - 07-24-2014 Conspiracy theorists, local or global, tend to see what they want to see and assume that others are spending as much time and energy as they are on minor things. Layout at BIC has always been erratic. This is partly because Tiffany used to do a certain amount of her editing by cell phone, and mostly because it has never had a full time professional copy editor. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the correct one, and it is really farfetched to think that a frequently badly laid out local blog was being engineered to give someone an advantage. It is far more likely that the different pieces were created and put up at different times by rushed people who were being a little careless, than that those people sat around and plotted to give Tiffany an advantage by making her responses to the survey look good and other people's look bad. Paranoia and politics are a terrible combination. I am no unquestioning fawning fan of Tiffany's by any means, but this whining about the BIC just shows a real lack of perspective, and makes your candidate look like an amateur rather than a potential public servant. I've never met McNarie, that I know of, but the whole diatribe about his call to RJ reads like bad fiction, and at the most is a tempest in a teapot over how someone heard one word, and if that word was plural or not. Carol RE: Campaign ethics - Guest - 07-24-2014 Carol, I see you did not respond to the fact that RJ did not want the exposure that the BIC had to offer yet they put her in their rag anyway. It is not even worthy of wrapping fish with esp. since Tiffany takes advertizing money from the Israeli company Ormat Geothermal. As far as conspiracy's go you are probably one of those wing nuts who believes that Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy. lol I have to say this is one of my favorite amusements and my favorite waste of time. As long as first amendment speech is alive I will continue to speak and I hope you all do the same. And by the way Carol and snorkle RJ is not seeking your vote anyway. So talk on... RE: Campaign ethics - snorkle - 07-24-2014 Sativa says; "What can I expect from Tiffany who is from Wyoming. That state is 50th in the country for their lack of morals and ethics! And that is what you want to defend snorkle? A Wyoming gal with no Aloha whose father was a bomber pilot". _____________________________________________________________________ Well, you have my vote Sativa.... One question though; How can I be certain that RJ isn't from Wyoming(That state is 50th in the country for their lack of morals and ethics)?[:0] Or that her father wasn't a bomber pilot?[V] (Is Sativa the name you were born with, or a user name? (sorry, []; couldn't resist the pun) RE: Campaign ethics - Guest - 07-24-2014 snorkle quote:"Well, you have my vote Sativa" Mahalo snorkle but I am not running this time. RE: Campaign ethics - Alan McNarie - 07-24-2014 KathyH: good point. Basically, I had to make a logistical decision: I needed to get a huge number of questionnaires online, and decided that getting them up took priority over making them pretty. Even so, since the answers came back in a large variety of formats, from Yahoo Mail to HTML to PDF, I had to do a whole lot of cleanup and reformatting just to get them online at all. I'm still wrestling with some of them. If there's time later, I'll go back and put them all into a format that's easier on the eyes. Alan D. McNarie RE: Campaign ethics - Alan McNarie - 07-24-2014 Sativa, I'm not going to get into a long debate with you. But RJ just declined to fill out the survey. That doesn't mean that a newspaper can't quote what what she's already put on the public record, and the goal here, again, was just to inform the public about the candidate's positions. I don't see anything in the article that could possible be construed as derogatory about Ms. Hampton, and I only used sources where she herself was listed as the author. If I got anything wrong, please let me know. Otherwise, I stand by my statements. Alan D. McNarie RE: Campaign ethics - Alan McNarie - 07-24-2014 Possibly, rather Alan D. McNarie RE: Campaign ethics - csgray - 07-24-2014 Sativa, If RJ is elected are you going to be part of her staff? If you are going to be part of her staff, is your attack mode style going to continue when you are on the public payroll? Will people you disagree with be treated with respect and dignity, or are you going to continue your pattern of insults and name calling? You have had far more to say about RJ and RJ's positions than RJ has, so the public really has a right to know before they vote, will you continue to be the voice of RJ if she wins? PS It is a good thing RJ has so many votes secured that she can afford for you to dismiss voters as being unworthy of RJ seeking their vote. Does she know you are doing stuff like this in her name? Carol RE: Campaign ethics - Guest - 07-24-2014 Alan, you call BIC a newspaper? RJ told you she did not want to participate in BIC'S questionnaire. The questionnaire was like Tiffany's articles long and drawn out. Who are you to take her responses off the internet or where ever you got them from and fashion her answers and put them in your categories? What gives you the right to go against her wishes especially in an opponent's so called newspaper? RJ does not want anyone out there to think that she would have anything to do with Tiffany's paper. She does not want to be associated with BIC in anyway. This is just more cow patties to step over. We don't even read BIC. The font is too small. I have not yet seen the article that you wrote for RJ I just hope it informs the readers that RJ declined to answer your questionnaire and that you got her answers off the internet. |
