Mahalo plenty, Mr. Tom! Aloha to Pam, please.

ETA: A tad O/T, however, it is clear as a bell tonight, and the moon is fantastic! [Smile]

Look, low in the sky, tonight’s full moon rises on the summer solstice, the first time that’s happened since 1948, according to the Old Farmers Almanac.

June’s full moon has traditionally been nicknamed the strawberry moon, a name that alludes to strawberry harvest season.

I always wanted to see the space station it nothing ever worked out (thick marine layer, difficult place in the sky for where I am, etc.) I finally saw it twice! thanks to Tom (Kerr) when we were together. I loved how bright it was, how it swept the sky, and knowing there were people in it. Reading about the astronaut coming home from the ISS made it so real. Something to be proud of humanity for, desperately needed in the face of all these shootings that I can't even keep up with any more.

Thank you Tom, so much [:X]

It was a pleasure, Pam. It was so nice to see your reaction when you first saw it!

Pam also helped me attend my very first MLB game, and I am now a Mariners fan! One more thing off the bucket list...

Aloha ahiahi, Pam! Looking forward to your return...[Smile] Just so you know, Mr. Tom isn't the only "notable Brit" in Hawai'i..(j/k, Sir [Big Grin] Yes, she visited Hawai'i; salt of the earth, fantastic woman!) Ms. Susan Boyle, speaks of the moon, in "Memory":

Bid you all a good night (as the moon shines bright...lol. Apologies for all the O/T).

Thank you, Opihikao. Both Pam and I are fans of Susan Boyle so this means a lot.

O/T but this is my favorite. Susan Boyle's version of Wild Horses that even Mick Jagger said her version was much better than the Rolling Stone's original.

Love it, Mr. Tom! She is wonderful! Jagger was right, Sir.

Mahalo for all the tips on watching our skies, and I look forward to the next pass of the ISS. You know, with all this discussion about TMT, science vs. culture, and all the peripheral "sub-issues", my mo'opuna appreciate the value in combining science and culture. Thank you.

Now, really going to rest, as I listen to "I Dreamed a Dream", which seem so apropos. Finding balance, as the mo'opuna stare up into the sky, looking for the ISS, and other heavenly sights...

(E kala mai for O/T, again)

Nice video with cast members of Star Trek, and crew members of the ISS comparing the International Space Station to Star Trek:

RE: Elon Musk's Starlink, ISS, - Over Puna - TomK - 07-24-2016

Thanks, HOTPE. I enjoyed the video and did try and look for the ISS this evening but the clouds were too thick.

Next really good evening opportunity to see the ISS will be on August 19th. It's visible before then but either in the morning or while the sky is still very bright in the evening.

For those on Kaloli Point, there's an extremely bright Iridium flare predicted for just after 8pm on August 15th. More details nearer the time.
