Puna: Our roosters crow first RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - dan d - 07-17-2019 Very respectfull. Arests. No tywraps. Maybe the guy witb the box forgot the ? Atourny general office was there HPP RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - ironyak - 07-17-2019 EightFingers - Did anyone protest when the original telescopes were built? I've not seen any documentation for protests against the first telescope, although someone may have a source. Resistance to further development after the first was well publicized and recorded e.g. https://books.google.com/books?id=TYYVXIePsy4C&pg=PA93#v=onepage&q&f=false RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - leilanidude - 07-17-2019 From watching the live feed, it appears that a number of the "kapuna" are pretending to need an ambulance to take them away as they are arrested. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 07-17-2019 "kapuna" are pretending to need an ambulance Then they can go to the hospital instead of Hilo jail. Or hospital first, then Hilo jail. A doctor on social media was asking for Target Gift Cards to pay for protestor’s possible medical necessities. I know Target has a pharmacy, but c’mon. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 07-17-2019 TMT responds to the lawsuit over a $1.4 billion bond requirement. As TomK mentioned, the 1977 plan has been updated (several times): “The petitioners were all parties involved in the contested case hearing, and BLNR considered and rejected the very same claim now raised again by the petitioners. They failed to meet their burden and their lawsuit has no merit.” A petitioner in a 2017 contested case hearing on TMT raised the bond issue, but the BLNR argued the 1977 plan was just a 17-page “policy guide” and the 2009 plan is more comprehensive and supersedes the 1977 document. https://www.westhawaiitoday.com/2019/07/17/hawaii-news/tmt-responds-to-opponents-tro-petition/ RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - leilanidude - 07-17-2019 CD Message HPD reports Daniel K. Inouye Highway, Saddle Road, is currently closed to all traffic for safety concerns. Use alternate routes. Just sent, at noon. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 07-17-2019 One protestor announced TMT trucks are rolling up Saddle Road at 12:10 PM. A single unverified report. UPDATE 12:28 PM Star Advertiser reports construction equipment has arrived at access road: https://mobile.twitter.com/staradvertiser/status/1151619629149818880 |
