FWIW... I asked my doctor about the Kaiser hospital on Maui--thought I could get in a little vacation before surgery. He said HE prefers the quality of the Oahu hospital, and highly recommended going there. Incidentally, the EMTs on Oahu say the Kaiser ER is a lot better than Queens!
Yeah, I know WAY too much about hospitals.

i see, seniors on maui do not have to be flown to oahu...are the health care facilities that much better on maui?? if they are, fly me to maui...cut the pre-paid air tickets by half and cut the monthly premium by half, an call it good. last year, 2012, seniors on the big island paid $29.00 per month for the program mentioned above and the seniors on maui and oahu paid a big fat ZERO..
