I think the difference was that HPP has signs at the beginning of all their roads saying "Private" and as I recall from living there Orchidland doesn't.

Like that Google learning page, lots of info. Last year I met a young woman who was driving the Google car w/ a male coworker around Puna. She was a riot telling us how being stuck in a car 10 hours a day made them like an old married couple. Everything he did aggravated her & vice versa. I think she was from Texas - nice job, getting paid to drive around paradise.

I enjoyed seeing our house and the neighbors rooster farm (that I heard but have never seen) on the maps! Love the update.

Wow! they hadn't updated the satellite pix of our house in more than 5 years, and now it's current within the last 3 months! AND it zooms all the way in, far better resolution!

Great!
Now instead of driving around trying to find unpermitted structures and other violations, the County Planning and Building Departments can just view them from Google Earth from the comfort of their desk.
I know they probably won't do this, but it sure opens up the possibility if someone in authority wanted to start enforcing the rules.

I saved an image of our house and it says image date of January 21, 2013. Previous imagery was from 2006.

Google Earth no longer works for me -- no image of earth but only a white background. I've reloaded the latest version too. Anyone else having the same problem?
