Yuck! We're the worms in the seeds or visible ??
I have this parasite phobia! And have always
eaten a few seeds as they have vermicide reaction.
Yuck!

If you accidentally eat a fruit fly, it's no big deal. The maggot will either die in your stomach or pass through. You've probably already eaten some without knowing it Smile

if youve eaten Papaya youve eaten maggots, they are harmless

maggots in Papaya and especially Waiawi is normal and common, cut it open and stare at the center area for a minute you will see some 'movement' quite often Wink

If you are that worried about it, heat the papaya to 140 degrees. That's what they do for papayas exported to Japan, as they don't want to import our fruit flies.

I can't believe this post!

Do you have any idea how many larvae we ate as kids eating larvae-infested cherries in orchard next to us? No, you don't...cuz I don't. We just kept popping those sweet, juicy ripe cherries in our mouths. And Dad always told us, "yep, getting good source of protein".
