RE: laser eye surgery on the big island? - hooligal - 11-29-2013 I was shopping around for Lasik right before I moved over here in 07. Got to the appt, and offhandedly mentioned I was moving to Hawaii in two weeks. The doc said I'm not allowed to fly for a month, or swim/dive, or go above a couple thousand feet sea level following the surgery. I also would have to come back after a month for checkup, then again at 3 months. So I skipped the lasik ![]() * I'd rather fail at happiness than succeed at misery * RE: laser eye surgery on the big island? - terracore - 11-30-2013 I did a lot of searching and I can't find any doctors who do LASIK style vision correction on the BI or Maui. There are a few surgeons who have offices in Kahului for the pre-op exams etc but the actual machines are in Honolulu. RE: laser eye surgery on the big island? - Peter Easterling - 11-30-2013 I had my cataract surgery done by Dr. Dan Driscoll of Hawaiian Vision Specialists. He did a fine job. The office is professionally run. I left a message about when my appointment was the next morning and I got a call at about 6:30 or 7:00 in the evening giving me the time of my visit. I asked are you still in the office. No, calling patients from home. Really caring and thorough service. Dr. Driscoll also identified a minor eye problem that had not been spotted by several other eye doctors and gave me a cheap and easy way to treat it. I ma completely satisfied. |
