Mahalo for your hard work, Royall. I have brownies to bring.

Peace and long life

RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade and Cookie Exchange - Carey - 12-14-2013

Parade starts at Keaau HS at 5:30 & the Old Keaau-Pahoa Rd. will be closed throughout the parade..

If you are running late, all hope is not lost, as there is a backk way around, from Old Volcano go to Milo (Across Puna Hongwanji & just after the end of the parade) Turn makai on Milo, go one block and turn toward right on Ohe St, go ~ 4blocks to Kikania right to stop (or park before, most likely lots of vehicles....) walk across Old Keaau-Pahoa to the Cookie exchange

Google maps for the exact site & the round about way to get there:

Just finished baking the cookies, 'cause I'm coming too (first timer).

RE: Kea'au Christmas Parade and Cookie Exchange - Royall - 12-14-2013

Glad you could be there Iju!! We had a nice turn out for a fantastic evening. Weather was perfect for the first time in several years!! No clouds to speak of, no wind at all, and a bunch of fun loving people. We were the last ones on the parade rout to leave.... the cops even slowed down to look at us once! The parade was a bit shorter this year. Only 2 band showed up and sever commercial rigs weren't there either. I think the parade was over in an about an hour, give or take a few.... Hope the weather is this nice next year!

Thanks to all that came out. Makes the effort worth it.

Royall

Hey, what about recipes? It wasn't until I got home that I tasted some of the treats. The paradise bars, the mint and mac brownies, the ginger cookies, the fruitcake. There was nothing that wasn't super good.

Peace and long life

Totally agree. I was searching for ginger cookies recipe on the net as soon as I got home last night. And that delicious white powder ball cookies, so yummy. Didn't taste all the goodies, too full.

Cant believe it but 1st time ever going to the Keaau Parade.

My gang had a great time (all out of state and out of country visitors)!

Thank you to all especially Royal, and Carey and Jim for everything. I even suspect you talked the weather into behaving!!
