The cloudy Hilo weather not going protect the panels. RE: Carport roof options - lquade - 01-27-2014 i have the heavy duty tuff panels on my lanai and they have been there close to 30 years. they are still fine. the cheaper ones (home depot) on a flat roof you will be lucky to get 5 years. I feel you are a bit unaware of the variety of steel panels available nowadays. They look very classy and aesthetic as well. When I remodeled my carport 4 months back, I got a variety of steel panels with bold colors available at steel buildings colorado springs.
