Time to file another appeal.

RE: Baker v. Kealoha. Baker Win in 9th circuit. - Wao nahele kane - 03-20-2014

Midnight Rambler,
Are you going to file an appeal for 225,850 people who were murdered between 2000 and 2012 that were not capable of defending themselves against their murderers? Or perhaps you can file an appeal on behalf of the 1,176,643 victims of forcible rape that occurred during those same years. Now... with every one of those people looking you straight in the face, tell them that they should have never been afforded the right to defend themselves and their deaths and rapes are justified. While you're at it, tell the next 1.5 million about to become victims of the same type of crimes the same thing you told the former victims. When you remove the right of self defense YOU become an accomplice to the crime. Would you remove and destroy a gun out of rape victims hands who was about to defend themselves against a rapist? If you did such a thing, you would be an accomplice to the rape and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. What makes you think yourself any less an accomplice to such crimes when you support that such victims have no right to self protection?

Can an idiot or insane person carry a gun?

Let's hope not. Once we open up pandoria's box for this... I'd be afraid even if I were a cop. We got too many gang banger wanna be's as it is but to actually make it legal for them to tote around hardware in public ... Hawaii is currently #1 for lowest gun deaths in the entire nation and would like to keep it that way.

Not so bad on Oahu were the police force is seen but for places in Puna it's a nightmare.

IMO, it's bad enough we let police run around with firearms.

It might be a win for them, but personally I'm not that worried about it since they have a long way to go as I see it. As there would be many many laws that would have to be overturned for this to become reality. If you don't like it, make sure to let your representative know. They will be hearing from me for sure. One reasons I moved here were because we had strict gun laws. If you want a permit to open carry, there are plenty of other states one can move to.

Funny I have some die hard gun freaks as friends that tell me they wouldn't move here for that reason alone.

You have to admit, the number of firearm-related deaths in Hawaii is getting unacceptably low.
Time for a change!

RE: Baker v. Kealoha. Baker Win in 9th circuit. - Wao nahele kane - 03-21-2014

Murder is murder and the State of Hawaii's murder rate is not the lowest per capita in the USA. If you're after living in a State with the lowest Murder rates - New Hampshire has the lowest number of murders per capita in the USA and they also have among the most liberal (unrestrictive) gun laws in the USA, imagine that.

Yes, according to THIS information, Hawaii has the third lowest rate of death by firearms in the country.

There are only 47 more violent states!

More guns would surely help!

RE: Baker v. Kealoha. Baker Win in 9th circuit. - Wao nahele kane - 03-21-2014

What the hell does that matter? Murder by gun, rock, baseball bat or by clothesline... murder is murder. You can't seriously believe that removal of guns will result in less murder, you live in a fantasy world.
So your rating of violence is only that which occurs through use of a firearm? HA HA HA... sorry but that's another one for the books.
As per violence crime goes Hawaii ranks 36th. So in that respect, there are 14 states with less violent crime per capita than Hawaii.
