Simply being pollinated by hemp will not affect the quality of a non-hemp cannabis plant. As we discussed in one of the GMO threads, a pollinator's DNA simply sits in the seed, ready for the next generation, but not changing its seed parent's characteristics.
In any plant, if you don't control how pollination occurs you will have uncontrolled genetics in any resulting seed. That's why we buy seed in packets from people who are supposed to be controlling pollination to obtain true-to-name seed.

In the dark ages folks used to use a tray and credit card to "clean" the pot, remove the seeds - part of the social ritual in the day
I think now days most folks clone the plant to reproduce a known variety - whether for rope or medicine

Yes, "simply being pollinated" will, in fact, affect the quality of non-hemp cannabis.
Seeds! The pollen will cause seeds, and any pothead knows that crappy seeds, we don't need.
Also, "we," don't buy seeds, we travel to the source (Himalayas) and select from growers who have been breeding their stock for thousands of years.

Sorry, I wasn't being clear. Of course for modern recreational cannabis growers sinsemilla is the goal. My point was that pollination does not alter the fundamental characteristics of the parent plant. Seedy cannabis will produce the same active ingredients, just less of them.

Seedy Cannibus I do not want. Fully legalize and capitalize off of tourist profits. If you think it was wrong to see acres of gmo papaya destroyed by rogue segments in them middle of the night, watch when the first hemp crops make it to Puna. They won't live past the seedling stage.
