Just a little factoid

Bitter melon is a melon. Same with cukes, or more accurately melons, cucumbers, bitter melon etc. are all in the gourd family. Actually, bitter melon is also known as bitter gourd.

Stir fried with pork or chicken, like the filipinos do, makes a great dish.

Google "bitter melon diabetes" and find good reports on things to fight diabetes.

It is a vine, so plant it next to a fence, etc. (you get the idea).

It is great with chicken. locals make a soup called chicken padia (don't no if i spelled it right)But the trick is not to stir the leaves when you put it in with the chicken and use the small leaves. People use the small green vegetable in the soup as well. The more you stir the more bitter it gets.It is good soup when your ill from a cold or flu.....
