You can purposely cause a vehicle to backfire, especially a standard shift one. Guns don't make loud bangs, they make cracking, popping noises.

There's a guy who drives past my house with the music blasting. I'd be annoyed, but he has a great music collection, and I usually wind up singing along.

Strange, but it always seems to be the same song when I hear it. At least, the beat is the same - boom boom boom.
