RE: Puna Pharmacy sale to Long's - Kapohocat - 10-05-2014 quote: Target. Puh. Same as CVS. Pharmacist wouldnt fill a prescription for my husband that he has gotten for 14 years. Pharmacist thought prescription size was out of range not understand that my husband might be out of the normal weight range for this drug. We had to go there 3 times and finally went to PP - which is when i started going there to begin with. PP Pharmacist called PBC and verified quantity and dose with doc and good to go. RE: Puna Pharmacy sale to Long's - kalakoa - 10-06-2014 medical records are being digitized and any doctor, hospital or pharmacy can access the records EHR is a massive failure; healthcare providers are still using fax because it's the only thing that's compatible across systems. Pharmacist thought prescription size was out of range not understand Repeat after me: "Oh, I didn't realize you were a doctor. Why don't you rewrite the prescription then? Clearly you know what you're doing." RE: Puna Pharmacy sale to Long's - Kenney - 10-06-2014 Aloha neighbors! Sad, but true that "local" pharmacies have been selling out because of the pressures brought to bear by all the big box stores. They just can't compete. The loss of every one of them hurts us who love working with people we know, especially when we or somebody we love is hurting or circumstances are dire. Obie, pharmacies have been sharing information for as long as I can remember. It has nothing to do with Obamacare. KTA is known among health care workers as the best at it. They have had a watchful eye on people who troll for Doc's and Pharmacies who will write and fill (sometimes duplicate, triplicate) scripts, especially for narcotics. It's nothing new. The DEA is just applying more pressure now, so more care is being taken to cover their backsides and protect their businesses. Puamanaki, it's really easy to do a Breech of HIPPA Report. Just Google HIPPA. I understand that you're uncomfortable with any and everyone having access to your medical records. It doesn't sit well with me either. Unfortunately, I doubt that buying a pharmacy and inheriting their records would be considered a "breech". Longs (now CVS) did it a few years ago with the other Pahoa Pharmacy they bought, and it ticked me off at the time too. Unfortunately, we don't have much control over the situation... RE: Puna Pharmacy sale to Long's - Kenney - 10-06-2014 ps. Puamanaki, All the HIPPA reporting is done online. You can make calls til the cows come home, and it won't do any good. |
