The brave people on this thread have inspired me to come out of the closet: I don't like Turkey dinner either!

My other confession is that I'd rather have good sushi. Please don't tell my siblings.

Punafish, you would be okay with sushi as fish was on the possible 1st Thanksgiving menu. But also so would venison... but really not turkey.

Here is a link to the what one person thinks was the first menu - http://www.yankeemagazine.com/new-england-food-cooking/a-truly-traditional-thanksgiving-menu

Actually saw a clip of a culinary instructor on the mainland admit that they would toss their frozen bird into the pool to thaw it out each year.

Punafish - I've been asked to cook Wiener schnitzel with an accompaniment of Austrian potato salad for Thanksgiving. Definitely non-traditional but am looking forward to the opportunity. I will certainly, however, check to see if things turn green while they cook. Don't want to give asian flu to everyone.

I am extremely jealous of anyone who gets to have Tom's Weiner schnitzel and my favorite potato salad in the world for Thankgiving. I am going to go off in a corner now and feel sorry for myself (sniff.) I Ikid you not...

I'd send some over to California if you ask nicely, but it'll turn green by then...

Well, green is one of the Christmas colors...
