Coquis don't like fire ants and you will rarely see them in the same place. I tried to do a little dance by allowing a low fire ant population as a DMZ around the house. Well it definitely keep away the coqui crooners who camped out by the windows and kept me awake at night.

It seemed as thought when it rained heavily the fire ants came in the house to the point of deciding to end my experiment. But it did work for quite some time.

Roosters LOVE Coquis - The more free range roosters one has,the less coquis we have.
The coquis are now a minimum of 600 feet away from our home, all thanks to the roosters.
Geese and ducks also love coqui frogs,at night when the geese an ducks roost, they listen for the coqui to chirp, and as dawn awakens each new day,the geese and ducks hunt en-mass for their favorite froggy protien snack .

A recent letter to the editor of the Hawaii Tribune-Herald by Syd Singer claims that everyone has gotten used to coquis and now loves them and misses them when they're away. From the above posts, sounds to me like he's dead wrong (wouldn't be the first time).

I'd rather have coquis than roosters.

Syd Singer is dead wrong about almost everything. Has he opened a fire ant sanctuary yet?
