RE: vine identification - msrocket - 03-17-2015 After ripping out as much as possible, would round-up or the poison-ivy stuff be the best chemical treatment? RE: vine identification - kalakoa - 03-17-2015 Mine grew back from RoundUp... RE: vine identification - microage97 - 03-18-2015 It appears to be some kind of bean / pea. I have seen little fuzzy bean pods on them. I guess I would just keep on it. All the invasives I have battled really don't like to be spray / weedwhacked repeatedly and after a while will finally die back so that you can pull them out by the roots. RE: vine identification - rainyjim - 03-18-2015 Planting something in its place seems to be the best way to prevent a grow back from my experience - this may still require additional help like weeding while the replacement gets established. I like sweet potato as a ground cover, alternativey perennial peanut though it is slower to spread in my experience. RE: vine identification - Plumeria - 03-21-2015 This is invasive on Oahu too (I just moved back to BI after living on Oahu for the last 8 years). I call it the kudzu of Hawaii. RE: vine identification - microage97 - 03-23-2015 ya it does seems to grow like kudzu. Wow it is fast...fast enough that it is hard to get something else to grow there as it just over takes it from the ditches. This is WAR. ;-) RE: vine identification - lavalava - 03-25-2015 it could probably eat an acre a month if left alone |
