I second J. Hara. $179. 10 X 20, been up over a year, poles good, set in cement paint cans. Silver Tarp is starting to get thin at the edges. Easy set up.

Most of the people I know that have the metal tube framework with the very common gray tarps, have to replace the tarps about every six months.

The HPM sold option that we have uses 1 inch electrical conduit as the structure, an expensive silver UV resistant tarp, and tarp balls to affix the tarp to the conduit structure. (Your method for keeping the tarp from blowing away will be your own design. Some people tie them to ropes staked into the ground, others use buckets of concrete or use other methods).

The tarp balls usually last a year at best. Usually less. The tarp itself can last up to 3 years. The poles, being galvanized, last at least 5 years. As with any tarp structure, you need to pull the plastic tarp off for high wind events. The weakest link in these kits are the tarp balls. You can use other means (cable ties, rope) in their place.

We got one at Dels a couple years ago, coverage to the ground with zip doors at both ends. Still in good shape despite having been moved about 12 feet by a wind gust.

We got one of the plastic garages Costco sells. The painted pipes are still in good shape but the tarp portion began disintegrating after a year. The side panels are okay but the top dissolved in the sun.

I've burned through a few of the tarp type carports and found the "Moto Shade" tarps the sturdiest against UV deterioration. Frames have a good powder coat as well. I believe Amazon still sells them.

Bumping this thread. Looking for something similar to this, have seen them on island but don't know where to get one:

Maku'u market built one of these for the food vendors (fire code and all that).

Seems like it had a little advert plaque on it somewhere.

Pahoa Feed was selling these a few years ago !

Moto pipes rusted quickly and the tarp had pin hole drips in just a few months.

Peace and long life
