Is this because you don't live in South Puna?

With the importance of tourism to the local economy, it's better if the derelicts are directed to south Puna. They fit in around Pahoa, there are all kinds of enabling systems. In Hilo, they are just an eyesore, real downers to a mostly festive place. It is so weird around here, everybody wants another park, nobody uses them, the bums and freeloafers drift in and take it over. Meanwhile, there are over 6,000 people on the assisted housing list and the number of homeless has doubled from last year. Hello, why not just make homeless parks? Kind of wondering if the Pahoa park turns out to be that way.

Anyway, places like Lucy's are reviving old Hilotown. Good to hear they are doing well.

"Aloha also means goodbye. Aloha!"

They are frequently in Hilo for services, so, actually not a bad idea, we will get better roads if they get congested. Plus, it encourages carpooling. That glow is getting red though, speaking of the flow. So, Hilo prolly best!

some of you guys are grouping everyone together who doesnt live your cookie cutter monotone Ohio-like lifestyle.... OFTEN confusing regular lowlife no teeth often hapa older thieving 'ice' addicted alcoholic homeless people (Hilo)... with young mostly healthy haole freespirit temporarily in Hawaii WWOOFers of the 'farms' of lower Puna.... the WWOOFers rarely go to Hilo overall, (w/o a car) it takes all day for a trip into town by bus or hitch... they usually just go to the Pahoa 'natch' and back to lower Puna... while the homeless in Hilo are near the bus station and quite a different breed of 'users' and will purse grab, dumpster dive and rip you off after a punch to the face (dirtnap)... they (Hilo iceheads) are more similar to what you see in SF now, as opposed to what you saw in the Haight in the late 60s, more of a WWOOFer type of people back then, losers (users) with smiles...

WWOOFers... the cool hard working ones are "Rainbows' ...while the lazy ones get branded as 'Drainbows' and are on their way back home to mainland soon as everyone (farms/eco-villages) catches clue to these users and they are blacklisted...
