Jon,
Pam and I were in Portland a few weeks ago and the temperatures were in the 90s. I thought it was supposed to be relatively cool there in June!

A short bike ride away from my Courtenay house. Nothing like that near the cottage in Mountain View, but any Hilo beach will do =) How do you know about it? Even most who grew up here don't know that secret.

Not expecting anything major but a glancing blow from a tropical depression or storm is probably likely for the Big Island in about a week. Probably will get the remains of a tropical storm here around July 8th;

As the waters warm the Hurricane/Tropical storm season will peak here in Aug./Sept.
We do have much above normal SST especially near Hilo;
