RE: Crazy drivers on Dirt roads - Mimosa - 09-03-2015

Laniuma at the bottom was just chip sealed.Worst job of chip seal re do we have ever seen.
The people doing the job, never bothered to fix the existing pot holes,so the last bit of rain we had.choke pot holes all over again.
And where they did chip seal , the layer of oil to gravel ratio,so sparse, that it is just about gone from the wear n tear of many vehicles.
If Orchidland BoD is serious about redoing the existing chip seal,at least some one could do some review and over-site of our dues being Raised and then wasted with the company paving their pockets and not the roads.

Yes Mimosa, Bad call on part of the Bod.
Throwing good money after bad.
Patching the potholes would be better and less expensive.

Damn straight. It's bad enough that they paved it to the intersection with Pohaku, which about tripled the traffic down the highway 11 side of 40th.

Wait until it's all paved...

Did you hear OLCA Board approved a contract with an unlicensed contractor to resurface their roads and paid him $125,000. in advance on a $250,000 open ended contract with out doing any research on his past performance. It was later found that 2 out of the 3 subdivisions interviewed regarding his work would NOT hire him again and the 3rd is still trying to get him to make good on work he agreed to.
According to the Contractors License Board this is illegal and both Orchidland and the unlicensed contractor can be held liable."

Well I drive up 35th and Laniuma and yes the chip seal already has 2 inch deep potholes on 35th. Guess this posting was right on. I'm very disappointed as I paid the $400 for my two lots. GRRR. Just got back from India and the road there are in better shape than some here roundabouts and all.

Makes me wonder what kind of oil ( carcinogen level) he uses if he does do the work.

The most frustrating thing of all is that nobody on the Orchidland board will answer my question IS THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT MANDATORY OR NOT? While I "sort of" understand them not wanting to give an answer that would net them a huge loss in revenue if it was language included on the bill of lies that they have sent every land owner, the lack of transparency disgusts me. This is the first time ever I haven't paid my road dues and I haven't decided yet if I'm going to pay (late) the mandatory assessment, the mandatory assessment plus the special assessment, or just stop paying road dues forever and let my heirs figure it out after I die.

What happened to the OP topic? Now it's all about chip seal V tarmac or whether to pay road fees?
