RE: Mower for hilly land recommendation please! - TomK - 10-19-2015 "This would be more my cuppa. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvIXJBrclLY ...yes it's real. Wow. I'm still trying to figure out how that's possible (without looking it up of course!). Don't help! I just hope you don't treat your passengers the same way. [] RE: Mower for hilly land recommendation please! - Guest - 10-19-2015 Push mowers now have a 'safety feature' they did not have years ago. In newer mowers the grass exhaust chute is partially blocked by a piece of metal. This results in frequent clogging and engine overload in high or wet grass. The solution is to take a hacksaw and simply cut the blockage away to clear the chute. Dramatically improves performance of the mower, since the grass can actually escape via the now-clear chute. Also, if battling extremely high grass, simply hold the mower so the front of the mower is a foot off the ground for the first pass. BLows grass everywhere instead of clogging. Then back up and make a second pass normally. Much more efficient than slowly churning through it. --------------------------- You can't fix Samsara. |
