RE: Aina Blessing? Bad mana up the Mauka in Hamakua! - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 03-31-2016 When I first moved into my home, the container had not yet arrived, and everything here on Big Island was so different, and the house so empty. I remember the first night, a group of bufo toads, which I had never heard of, much less heard before, let loose their unsynchronized slow motion baritone croaks to echo around barren walls and floors throughout the night. Spooky, chicken skin. Then the wind picked up, imperceptibly, but strong enough that it swung an open door closed and open again with multiple bangs, as the thuds reverberated down the long hallway. Is the house... haunted? I knew the previous owner had been elderly, and died, but where? Lots of things have gone wrong over the years, pumps, electrical, etc. In the yard I've seen infestations of mites on the sago palms, ohia wilt, my hundreds of square feet of bromiliads planted throughout the property by the previous owners transform from beautiful landscaping into dengue breeding grounds, and more. Iselle, earthquakes, multiple tsunami threats, 27 inches of rain in a one day period. I never thought of it as bad luck. Because there are also days like today, sunny skies, blue ocean, and my blind and deaf dog (unlucky?) just turned 16 1/2 years old. I know she's happy to be alive. I determined a long time ago the bufos were just singing, and the sound of the wind only whistled through the Cook Island Pines outside my windows when I remembered to close the doors, and set the doorstops. Bad mana up the Mauka in Hamakua! - AKpilot - 03-31-2016 yeah, probably just the Spring blues........I our place so much. I am sure things will turn around! We're all here, because we're not all there! RE: Aina Blessing? Bad mana up the Mauka in Hamakua! - shockwave rider - 03-31-2016 Almost everyone I know who has moved to Hawaii has had a rough patch somewhere between the end of the initial "honeymoon" period of discovery and the "just another sh*tty day in paradise" go to work everyday and live your life period. During that rough patch our household endured health issues with no Dr. willing to take new patients, bad landlords, worse neighbors, multiple family illnesses deaths on the mainland, getting ripped off by someone we trusted, and other misc. difficulties small and large. Some people get so spooked by this stuff they pack up and return to wherever they came from, others just tough it out and send down roots. I've heard people refer to it as being "tested" by Hawaii, I don't know about that, but I do know I am glad we toughed it out and stayed, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. RE: Aina Blessing? Bad mana up the Mauka in Hamakua! - DTisme - 03-31-2016 It does seem that "bad luck" seems to come all at once. Not sure that's a Hawaii thing... just a life thing. So I say, "This, too, shall pass." Aloha kakou. JMO. RE: Aina Blessing? Bad mana up the Mauka in Hamakua! - Guest - 04-01-2016 Go to a farmer's market. Buy a quartz crystal. Long enough to have an orientation. Orient it beneath the center of your house with the point towards the north star. Then forget about it. Never touch or look at it again. You will be amazed but may have to deal with occasional strange dreams. --------------------------- You can't fix Samsara. RE: Aina Blessing? Bad mana up the Mauka in Hamakua! - Mr nice guy - 04-01-2016 I hope things turn around for you. Maybe try changing your routine a little? Perhaps take a huge load to the dump. Put a note on it that says "my troubles and worries". Drop it in and don't look back. RE: Aina Blessing? Bad mana up the Mauka in Hamakua! - Kenney - 04-01-2016 I agree with Mr. Nice Guy.! I wish you the best. The dump your garbage is a good idea imo.. Little steps in the right direction get you where you want to be! . RE: Aina Blessing? Bad mana up the Mauka in Hamakua! - AKpilot - 04-01-2016 Oh no, I agree that an attitude adjustment is called for. Realizing how negative and angry I had gotten for sure. I am not saying Pau to that. Just saying that Springtime can be a difficult time....TS Eliot called April "the cruelest month." seems as though it was March for us!! I tell you what, the past few days I started focusing on the positive, wishing people goodness and joy; and amazing things started happening. Thanks for the kick in the keister regarding an attitude adjustment.....it is in progress! Warmest Aloha to all, AKpilot We're all here, because we're not all there! RE: Aina Blessing? Bad mana up the Mauka in Hamakua! - Mr nice guy - 04-01-2016 If it is working for you, run with it! Amazing things are indeed amazing. |
