RE: Has anyone seen this update on Puna Flood Study? - kalakoa - 01-15-2017 No grading or grubbing permit required for: - foundation of a new permitted building - cemetary plots, landfills, agricultural operations (including ranching) performed within an approved conservation program - excavation/fill which of less than 100 cubic yards and 5 vertical feet which does not alter drainage to abutting properties - grubbing of less than one acre which does not alter the drainage pattern - exploratory excavations of less than 50 cubic yards under the direction of an engineer, provided that the director of public works is advised in writing beforehand - any work performed by electric, telephone, or public utilities Everything else requires a grading/grubbing permit and possibly a stockpiling permit, issuance of which must include compliance with the General Plan and applicable HRS statutes (6E, 205, 343) and payment of appropriate fees. Remember, folks: regulatory compliance is a major provider of jobs right here on our island.
