Jerry,
I knew it was generally worse in Kona and HOVE area. I was wondering if it being so bad in Hilo etc. would mean it was VOG free it HOVE. Or, is it just hanging around the island in general and making it bad everywhere.

Geez Glen!

Hey, just calling it as I see 'em. Something is causing the volcano to produce a lot of SO2 ---unclear to me if this is pre-eruption behavior or not. What DOES appear clear is that the volcano is going through a period of transition. Intensified vog could be a semi-permanent aspect of that transition.

To anyone elsewhere considering Puna, I am completely full of hot air.

Pua'a, they have been reporting vog in Honolulu during the recent trades interruption. Does that mean it had to get past HOVE to get there? I don't know, and we don't have many posters on Punaweb who live over there. Has anybody been down there lately?

Cheers,
Jerry
