Well all,
Don't expect anything to get better if Harry Kim leaves the scene.
Wil Okabe was President of the Hawaii State Teachers Association until
late 2015, and Mayor Kim appointed him to his current gig, 12/2016.
So County employees can continue to do whatever it is they do, and not
worry about yearly raises or getting more family and friends "on the job".
Don't worry, be happy. We are all in a paradise of one kind of or another,
yes? Is Wil eligible for multiple pensions?[

Given what has been reported about his health history, the Mayor appears to have a serious/chronic ongoing heart condition.

Harry draws both his retirement and his mayor's pay. His retirement is set from those six figure years as Civil Defense Director, and will not go higher. A different mayor would be accruing a new retirement level so Harry is indeed saving us money.
