Ha,ha,ha,ha! Were I planning to dump it, I'd have been a little sneakier.

Why did I think a microwave was any different than other appliances? I was sure there was a hazardous radioactive "gonkulator" inside. (For all you trivia fans, Col. Hogan once convinced Sargent Scholtz that they had a working gonkulator in their barracks...To which he replied: "I know noooothing!!!")

If anyone ever sees me dumping garbage on the road, you have my permission to shoot me.

Naw, Microwave ovens are just common material parts with no harmful stuff. The radioactive thing came from the original "nuking" your food sound bites.

I made a quick call to my local private solid waste contact and he said microwave ovens are 100% recyclable. They can be disassembled into plastic, glass, and metal. Nothing special to dispose of.
