LD are you talking about KFA Land Maintenance? I've had them since Dane started the business, 9 or 10 years ago. They have been tightening up their business practices & payment requirements. Until this year, my acre has been kept fire ant free, but lately they are everywhere; maybe because of the incessant rain. Maybe they are getting acclimated to the treatment. KFA has had to cancel the last 3 times b/c of weather, but it's worth it to me to pay someone to do the spraying. An aside; peppermint oil mixed w/ water in a spray bottle works to cut the sting, also ice packs.

Someone told me they use a drop of Anbesol.

This is the specific liver powder recommended to me by the Hawaii Ant Lab. Yes, they buy it on eBay:

Thanks to all the beef liver lesson/procurement. I'll try alternating it w. the peanut butter but since ants are gone, it will be hard to tell which is more effective. And we're going to try cutting back to once every six weeks and see if we're still ok.
