I actually wrote to them, and they said inflation is occurring near the MIDDLE east rift zone, not the lower, in the area around Pu'u'o'o. They can't provide an estimate as to when visible activity might occur there, could be months, could be years. LERZ remains as Lava Zone 1 and, down slope from it, Lava Zone 2 - i.e. activity is highly likely sometime in the future but there are no developments right now.
