Mostly just morning dew around here, as usual for a humid climate.

I have been wearing fleece pants and vest for an hour or two each morning, and late in the evening after it cools down.
I don't close doors.
I leave the house open 24/24.

It did rain for a very short period this morning from large dark clouds scudding over.
There may be more short rain periods off and on later.
I don't consider this to have broken the "drought".
Hardly anything got wet.

From around Jan 10th til March 18th will be on the drier side of wet.In beginning of Feb we may get 1 maybe 2 inches of rain - or not.
The poles are shifting more towards Siberia and Yellowstone caldera is acting up.By mid 2020 we should know if a new ice age is beginning - a once every 400 year event.
WE are in our sunset years and many here are not.
Weather changes will be dramatic and quick.

Friends in Ak say today's high will be a balmy minus 4 degrees zero with 7ft deep snow-drifts and a 2 inch layer of ice on the top of the snow drifts.
Lucky we live Hawaii the island .[Smile]

Thank you Nostradamus.

Imagine the destruction if it ever snowed even a foot here in Puna. Lots of roofs 2x4 4' on center, low pitch with even lower pitch added on below, etc... Nevermind all of us with single walls, screen doors, and no heaters!

Nostradamus or not, I like your prediction Mrs. Mimosa, I hope you're right.

Going on 6 or 7 days of relative dryness now. At what point does it start getting called a drought?

RE: Blessed weather? Beginning of drought? - Mimosa - 01-13-2019

Not Nostradamus.
There is a Fresh 485 foot wide intrusion of very Hot magma close to the surface and 100s of E.Q.s daily in the Yellowstone caldera and many new fumaroles in said area,
The land surface has swelled upwards over 800 feet at it's highest elevation in the last 120 days.Streams are now flowing backwards and are boiling hot '
Scientists are watching this event very closely 24 / 7.
The BBC is covering this exclusively with great graphics .
