RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - glinda - 01-19-2019 quote:I see, you really do mean she is less because she was born outside the USA. The thing is the worlds you use to speak disparagingly of Mazie, kind of, sort of, paint you as a bigot too. I think the context in which Mazie spoke, as shared by HOTPE, goes a long way towards showing just how skewed, how bias, and lacking in truth, with intent to inflame, is the original national review article posted by Frank. It is sad that so often those on the right feel a need to go out of their way to taint the truth so as to promote their ideology. Like their practice of gerrymandering, they are good at twisting reality to gain where just by the numbers, without all that slight of hand stuff, they are a minority. RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - Frank - 01-19-2019 quote: Here on the primal edge Comparing Sharia law to the Catholic religion does not deserve an answer. I ask if your post "Because her father Mike is a member of... the Knights of Columbus" was your opinion or did you get that from a media source. You couched that statement as if it came from Tulsi or was in fact her motivation for calling a bigot a bigot. Which is it? A source for your direct quote of hirono's would be appreciated. quote from the National Review... Hirono and Harris directly asked Buescher whether his Catholic beliefs would prevent him from faithfully executing his duties as a judge, and Hirono went so far as to demand that he drop his membership in the Knights and recuse himself from any case on which the group has taken a position. A little different than what you posted bold by me RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - Frank - 01-19-2019 quote: Its a free country...you can post what ever you like...good luck eta you RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - glinda - 01-19-2019 Comparing Sharia law to the Catholic religion does not deserve an answer. Your intolerance is glaring. RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 01-19-2019 A source for your direct quote of hirono's would be appreciated. https://www.newsweek.com/democrats-catholic-bigotry-trump-knights-columbus-1270859 The National Review excerpt you posted is not a quote, they reworded the original quote so it would better fit the narrative they wished to convey. For instance, you can’t be bigoted toward the Knights of Columbus since it’s not a religion, but you can be bigoted toward Catholics. So they substituted one for the other. Comparing Sharia law to the Catholic religion does not deserve an answer. If you read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the founding fathers specifically made a point that every religion had freedom to practice and worship in America. There are no exceptions listed. Muslims have the same rights as Catholics. Mike is a member of... the Knights of Columbus" was your opinion Yes, my opinion. Based on Tulsi’s early compliance with her father’s beliefs, and her later support for his political agenda. Her comments about Mazie struck me more like someone who took a personal offense to Hirono’s mention of the Knights, which Tulsi then defended with more zeal than I’d expect if it were simply about a stranger, Brian Buescher, someone she has nothing to do with, since she’s not even voting on his appointment. Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it. —Mary Oliver R.I.P. 1/17/19 RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - riversnout - 01-19-2019 Mazie will do or say whatever is against what Trump or the Rs want. Nothing else matters to her. She has painted herself in the corner and intends to stay there. For example, Trump says we're pulling our troops out of Syria. About time! Pull them out today! Who could argue with that? Mazie of course: ------------------------ TAPPER: What do you think, should President Trump pull U.S. troops out of Syria? HIRONO: This is yet another example of the president's incoherence and it's clear that he thrives in chaos. We haven't heard from General Dunford. We haven't heard from General Mattis yet. This is -- this is really on a par with the kind of incoherence that the president exemplifies on a daily basis, and I think in this instance, he's again reacting to what's happening with the Mueller investigation that threatens to close in on him and his associates every day. TAPPER: Well, what do you think should be done? Should the U.S. pull out of Syria? Or do you think that the U.S. troops need to stay there at least until the Pentagon feels ISIS has been defeated? HIRONO: I have a lot of questions about Syria in terms of, what does winning against ISIS mean? What are we going to leave Syria to if we exit? RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - TomK - 01-19-2019 What a bizarre thread. https://youtu.be/B2Je1CEPkUM RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - Frank - 01-20-2019 The National Review excerpt you posted is not a quote Your right...I should have posted - copied directly from. We all have a narrative. So they substituted one for the other. Its my understanding that no one can become a member of the Knights of Columbus unless your Catholic. Substitution is out of play. If you read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the founding fathers specifically made a point that every religion had freedom to practice and worship in America. Agreed...I googled Sharia law in America, this is the first note - In the United States, various states have "banned Sharia law", or passed some kind of ballot measure that "prohibits the states courts from considering foreign, international or religious law." As of 2014 these include Alabama, Arizona, Kansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Dakota and Tennessee. Not so for the Knights of Columbus. I'll stick with my original post - Comparing Sharia law to the Catholic religion does not deserve an answer. and YES, Muslims have the same rights as Catholics. Yes, my opinion. Thank you Now for the source of hirono's direct quotes... RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - Frank - 01-20-2019 quote: put some shades on...I humbly request you google Knights of Columbus and Sharia law...report back k RE: Mazie Called a Bigot - Rob Tucker - 01-20-2019 Frank, You are kinda wandering off the farm. bring it back to Hawaii or lose it.
