RE: Attack on Seaview lawn. - Obie - 01-14-2019 Just saw a video of this and didn't see anybody in a white robe but did see two mobs of people attacking each other even swinging guitars. Probably why I've always avoided that place on Sundays.Too many drugged out weirdos. RE: Attack on Seaview lawn. - laniA - 01-14-2019 quote:Seaview seems to attract that kind alot. RE: Attack on Seaview lawn. - Punaperson - 01-14-2019 I know some enjoy drum circles, long sessions of percussion, or what ever such events may be called. But sitting here now in my house in OLE, listening to one going on, and on, and on some more, just down the street, is by no means enjoyable. I know this neighbor has now started his drumming events earlier in the day ( after numerous neighbor complaints when they went on long into the night ), but many newer neighbors still have no comprehension about how far/loud noise travels in rural areas . I won't grace it by calling it music. RE: Attack on Seaview lawn. - ElysianWort - 01-14-2019 "doesn't it take about 1/2 hour to drive from Pahoa to Seaview " More like 45 minutes now so 1/2 hour is a great response time. The first responder was driving a truck. Looked like a DLNR guy or a park ranger. He arrived at about the half hour mark. Let me guess. The cops all showed up at the exact same time in their separate vehicles? Then after the Ranger came 3 cops and the ambulance. Probably 15 minutes later so probably just about at the 45 minute mark. I was driving away at that point so they passed me on the road. didn't see anybody in a white robe but did see two mobs of people attacking each other even swinging guitars. The video you saw was at the point when there was a group trying to mob the guy and another group trying to stop the violence. 5 minutes after the initial attack. The robed guy was no longer part of it by then. Probably why I've always avoided that place on Sundays.Too many drugged out weirdos. Wrong. 95% of the people there are very friendly, full of compassion and whether or not they have any drugs in their system, that isn't a glaring issue that becomes obvious. Seaview seems to attract that kind alot. And wrong. I have been there a lot of times and sure, I have smelled the cannabis in the air but that's about the extent of it. It was this one time that there was a rotten apple or two. Never experienced anything like that before at this event. edited to clarify ownership of final quote RE: Attack on Seaview lawn. - Obie - 01-14-2019 "Wrong. 95% of the people there are very friendly, full of compassion" It turns out the 2 guys knew each other and have been having an ongoing feud. The guy that got clobbered has been involved in a dui that resulted in death, arson and theft. I saw a video of the original attack. The mob action was another bunch of drunks that were looking for trouble. I have friends who have sold and moved away from Seaview because of the problems at that park. RE: Attack on Seaview lawn. - ElysianWort - 01-14-2019 Oh wow. Thanks for the 411 Obie, that explains things (for the attack). Not that it makes the strike justified as I thought he was dead because of the force of the hit and the way he crumpled. Made me sick to the stomach. Violence is such a buzz-kill. Also I had no idea it was an ongoing thing as I said it always seems so peaceful there and I been there lots. Seaview is a pretty big subdivision and I can't see how the event at the lawn could affect anyone living there past the first street or so. It starts around 4:30 and usually ends at dark and people drive home. Sure if you live in that castle in front or by it then yeah it's loud for a little while. Past that, not so much. RE: Attack on Seaview lawn. - MarkD - 01-14-2019 "The fellow in the white robe and wooden staff....has done this on MAUI for several years and is now banned from the entire Island of Maui." And now he's here. That is what Hawaii Island is for. The end of the line for those unwanted elsewhere. Not to digress too much, but heard a fascinating story the other day: The upper reaches of Ocean View Estates is one of the top preferred sites for the fed's Witness Protection Program. There's supposedly 25-30 of these characters up there (all heavily armed). The feds assure these "participants," some former contract killers and other turncoat mob members, that nobody will notice them on remote Hawaii island. Maybe some are traveling to Puna for the drum circles. Presumably they've grown out their hair a bit. RE: Attack on Seaview lawn. - ElysianWort - 01-14-2019 Wow, Oceanview sounds like a lovely place Mark. Lock and load. SeaviewI hope is a bit better. At least it seems that way to me. Perhaps not Obie's friends. I question whether Mrs. Mimosa really knows the identification of the shepherd attacker. Where did you see any video of him? There's probably more than one of these types living in lower Puna, carrying staffs and wearing white hemp.
