RE: Bread - Carey - 04-13-2008 There are 'sweet' cassavas & not... (have no idea what mine is, or how to tell....) the sweet have less toxins, but still you must cook the cassava in order to break down the toxins (squeezing out all juice & drying also help reduce toxins). Tapico is cassava flour rolled in gelatin. The are a few stores in Hilo that sell tapico flour... one that I have always seen it at is 'Caravan' on Kamehameha (bayfront) next to the Salvation Army shop... If anyone wants to try growing their own, I can alway get cuttings. (did I mention it is a weed in my yard?) RE: Bread - oink - 04-13-2008 Hijack One of my coworkers just ruined my diet this morning. He brought in homemade guava cobbler from fresh guavas. I had never had that before. That was some good ...., well it was good! Of course I just had one serving, yeah right! Pua`a S. FL Big Islander to be. |
