Doesn’t really matter where. Cheers, Kirt RE: What waste of money - randomq - 08-10-2019 1. Food *is* free in Hawaii kalakoa, you must be doing something wrong. 2. OHA is giving them grants? No wonder they have such a good turnout. Where do I sign up for the TMT grants, I'll take some time off work to protest too! RE: What waste of money - Frank - 08-10-2019 OHA is part of the Problem...they are broke...how does one disconnect to this extent? ya can't hav...yeah, 3 ways RE: What waste of money - knieft - 08-10-2019 quote: Sheesh, Kirt RE: What waste of money - ironyak - 08-10-2019 OHA isn't broke (unless you mean broken) but their extensive financial issues are of their own creation. Why do you think there are State audits and Federal investigations being done? https://www.hawaiibusiness.com/whats-next-for-oha/ kalakoa already answered kirt's question - protestors create a situation, friends and family in law enforcement get paid overtime to "respond", other friends & family in government get to use the situation to justify additional revenue and hires, OHA takes state money and help fuel the situation. Why would any of the groups involved want to find a resolution? (the money is all coming from someone else) RE: What waste of money - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 08-10-2019 ... protestors... law enforcement... government... OHA... We did it! Without science! Our own perpetual motion apparatus! Constantly in motion, accomplishing nothing. RE: What waste of money - Frank - 08-10-2019 quote: excuse me...Oha has state funding to the tune of $50 million for 2019, no where near the money required to meet their mandate given todays costs and Oha is mismanaged. imho...why ??, we as a county blow money hand over fist (overtime pay for police at tmt?? What? RE: What waste of money - jrw - 08-10-2019 Frank Oha so under funded how can they give money to illegal protest on the mountain is that part of their mandate. My understanding the state is picking up the overtime cost but I agree what a waste of money. jrw RE: What waste of money - TomK - 08-10-2019 Just so there's no ambiguity: "OHA approves resolution to advocate for health, safety of protectors" "The Office of Hawaiian Affairs is asking Governor David Ige to rescind his emergency proclamation for Mauna Kea. All nine trustees unanimously voted Thursday to approve a resolution that supports a proclamation retraction and allows OHA to advocate for the health and well being of demonstrators. That includes releasing funds to provide supplies for protectors at the base of the summit." https://www.kitv.com/story/40838984/oha-approves-resolution-to-fund-supplies-for-demonstrators-at-mauna-kea |
