RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 10-22-2019 Fortunately, there are enough restaurants, various grocery stores, food carts, and Filipino crack seed shops in Puna, that nobody has to eat an Impossible Burger if they don’t want to. What’s the farthest distance you can go on this island without immediate access to food? 15, 20 miles? Saddle Road? And even there, now you can stop half way at the Mauna Kea Access Roadside Kitchen and Snack Crossing. RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - terracore - 10-22-2019 quote: Gotta see this one. New, or a rerun of the "Mahalo Rewards" episode? RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - hilodiver - 10-22-2019 Tried it at Taste of Hilo. Flavor wasn't bad but it seemed kind of mushy. I didn't care for it. Aloha! RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - dan d - 10-23-2019 Just plain old ground beef from Kulanaas. $4 fot 1.25 lbs. And its ground round. Tastes like steak. Gonna dive next week ,taking orders, koles, uhu weke anyone. Aloha HPP RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - randomq - 10-23-2019 If Burger King was the gold standard Impossible was trying to reach, I'll pass. RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - SBH - 10-23-2019 Food for thought... https://www.onegreenplanet.org/animalsandnature/facts-on-animal-farming-and-the-environment/ RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - geochem - 10-23-2019 I'll wait for the soylent green - at least its manufacture consumes an overabundant, invasive commodity.... RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 10-23-2019 I'll wait for the soylent green geochem, Your suggestion addresses most if not all of the concerns mentioned by the Punaweb community: * Land & resources - already used by the Soylent Green ingredients while alive anyway, afterward additional land and resources not required * Environmental Impact - Could be produced with a local supply chain * Not a good choice; salt content, heart health, carb content - Soylent Green could be formulated to address all those issues * Kind of mushy - Chewy! Problems solved, thanks geochem. Bon Appetit! RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - randomq - 10-23-2019 It's probably what will happen anyway when the ships stop coming. Just need to develop some locally sourced seasonings and sides. Sea salt, pineapple glaze, guava smoked, mango chutney, ulu stuffing, etc. RE: Minit Stop drops the Beef - terracore - 10-23-2019 Green not available...
