Gotta use those miles! Maybe they could share some with you for your trouble.
My mom always flew Alaska airlines, with the exception of Hawaii. For the longer trans pacific flight she found the larger Hawaiian wide body jets to be more comfortable. She didn't have to change in HNL though, straight to Maui.
