We always walked backwards a bunch of the way when going up. Helps cut down on the burn. Never once thought of biking!

Visiting pedestrians arenʻt encouraged either. You may be able to get down there, but you will not be welcomed. And yes, it IS a sacred place. And they want to keep it that way. I have friends there whoʻve had visitors come in through their closed gate, pick their fruit and even once approached my friend while she was in the lua on their property to ask directions.

it IS a sacred place. … she was in the lua…

Lucky they didn’t catch her in there with a telescope, looking at the moon and stars.
Otherwise she’d be accused of polluting the water table.

Mr. "T" used to yell at the passing tour busses.  " I bet you wouldn't take your shoes off in my house!!!"

The world doesnʻt need any more snarkiness right now.

Breaking news...........and we are now able to project a new winner!

Yes. HOTPE will now take the 2024 Perfect Post Award of the Year!

Nope. Sorry. Only Kalianna can bestow that honor and she can't even see your opinion Julie. (notice that I did not quote)  Smile

It was a fine post (albeit quite snarky) Edge. Good job. Virtual trophy. Have a nice day.

ETA:  I just realized that Kalianna has already officiated the post in question and it did not earn high marks.
