RE: Local Kine Food....But WOULD you Eat? - rbakker - 07-01-2008 If you're ever in Iceland, try some hakarl, rotten shark. It was too foul even for Gordon Ramsay's mouth. Although it smells strongly of ammonia, the taste isn't that horrific. RE: Local Kine Food....But WOULD you Eat? - hooligal - 07-01-2008 Hmm, I see a theme for the next PunaWeb Party! NOT. RE: Local Kine Food....But WOULD you Eat? - alohaglady - 07-02-2008 Ummmm -- I thought mountain oysters meant testicles of mountain goats -- hence the reference to "mountain"?? Could be wrong. Anyway, I do require my oysters come from the briny deep. A vegan friend of mine won't eat anything with eyes -- Oysters and clams are OK in her book. I somehow never dreamed that to mean she wouldn't eat opihi. Hooligal has provided me with yet another "ting I nevah know -- but I do now,and so do you". |
