Gas is 2.68 right now in St. Louis. The good news though for Hawaii is that airlines are starting to drop their fuel surcharges

Come on down! macuu222, are ya feeling nervous about our little wager?

Actually, I am, with the wacky formulation and shipping Hawaii's price might not break 2.50

RE: Hilo gas prices continue to fall - Loretta - 10-19-2008

It used to be common for the gas at Kona Costco to be the same price or a penny or two more than gas on the Hilo side. Strange??!!

The price of refined gasoline at the pumps is not based only on the cost of oil, it also reflects the cost of the business of selling that gasoline. Factors such as cost to transport from terminal to retailer, land cost overhead, etc play a part. If land prices for a retail station is high compared to another area, their prices will be a penny or two higher.

Gas prices drop below $3.00 at Costco on Oahu http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27312693/

Does anyone know what it is at Costco in Kona?

$2.99 this morning at Costco in "Kona" according to this:

It almost makes it affordable to drive over there and fill up if you can wait in the long lines!
