When we thought we were going to build on a lot, we talked to designers with Trojan, Honsador & HPM & they were all willing to work with a combo of their studio design for the 3 pod layout (they had all done this before....)

Legally, or permitted? probably not...Plumbing, gas &/or electric hookups are supposed to be done by licensed contractors w/permit.....

Like I said, I could be all wrong about that part.
I would agree with you on that assumption. Puna is said to have close to 7000 unpermitted or "underpermitted" structures. It doesn't seem to become an issue until selling or neighbor complains.
