I recommended a jackhammer because this was on a smaller (Kaloli Point) lot that has wonderfully non-traditional improvements. Glen was looking to place a couple of dwarf (toy???) avocado tree.... ripping the lot seemed extreme, & depending on his improvements may be difficult, time consumming & expensive for a couple of trees.

Yeppirs. I forget to add that my lot is actually pretty small. The resort kind of takes up all the space. [Big Grin] Still, I do want to shoot for sustainability and want a few fruit trees. I will start with about 5 or so...and to keep the scale right, I will use trees of smaller (and cuter!) stature. That's how I roll in my tree selection. I do have an "L"-shaped area around the garage that might be able to hold a small orchard. Someone told me just build that area up with cinder (say a foot or so) and then plant.
