RE: Incredible Video Footage of Big Island - 1916 - PaulW - 04-23-2009 So what does everyone think, is it the Big Island? RE: Incredible Video Footage of Big Island - 1916 - Blakeyboy1 - 04-23-2009 Have an issue with heights Damon? I should have you over to my place next time you are in Salt Lake CIty. Actually it freaked me out too. People always ask me how a guy with a fear of heights came to live in a high-rise. I tell them I don't have a fear of heights I have a healthy fear of falling and honestly there is not a big chance of falling from my apartment (unless I sit in the window like these guys do on the tracks and it aint gonna happen!). -Blake http://www.theboysgreatescape.blogspot.com/ RE: Incredible Video Footage of Big Island - 1916 - John S. RE: Incredible Video Footage of Big Island - 1916 - bystander - 04-24-2009 The first bridge shown is going over Hakalau. It's the same bridge but has been widened for cars. The mill is still there in the footage. http://www.state.hi.us/dlnr/hpd/marhist/marhistimages/mh004.jpg RE: Incredible Video Footage of Big Island - 1916 - Blakeyboy1 - 04-24-2009 Thanks for posting this bystander! I love this stuff. I backed out of the URL to http://www.state.hi.us/dlnr/hpd/ and will be spending some time there. Thanks again! -Blake http://www.theboysgreatescape.blogspot.com/ RE: Incredible Video Footage of Big Island - 1916 - David M - 04-24-2009 I liked the shot of the train going into the tunnel and coming out Maulua Gulch. (Hwy 19 approx mm22) When driving from the Laupahoe side you can still see the tunnel on the Hilo side, look below the road. David Ninole Resident |
